is a Knock Off Official Shorkie Puppy |
I have received hundreds of
emails from
potential shorkie puppy parents
frustrateded
with
the confusion that some breeders
have brought to the world of
Officlal Shorkie Puppies.
People are getting
taken advantage
of every day by
certain breeders
promising they
have "Official
Shorkie Puppies" yet
delivering
shorkie
puppies that are not registered or
affiliated in anyway with the
Shorkie Club Of America.
Although this
apparently is not an illegal
practice it is immoral for
breeders to take our name and use it
to sell Knock off Official Shorkie
Puppies to unsuspecting puppy
parents.
The Shorkie Club Of America is
attempting to crack
down on these
breeders. It
is trying to attempt to
help puppy
parents to identify
knock offs
Official Shorkies BEFORE
they spend their
time and money.
Not that you should not buy a knock
off Official Shorkie puppy from
these breeders that claim to have
Official Shorkie Puppies. But you do
have the right to know that the Term
Official Shorkie Puppies was taken
from the Shorkie Club Of America and
their puppies have nothing to do
with us at all.
1. It's All About
a Label:
OFFICIAL MEANS:An
official is someone who holds an
office in
an
organisation
or
government
and participates in the exercise of
authority
(either his own or that of his
superior and/or employer, public or
legally private).
The reason we used the term Official
Shorkie Puppies is because we
started the breed over 18 years ago
here in the usa and have the
experience and and expertise in the
breed.

now You must ask your self. Why
would a breeder take Official
Shorkie Puppies from us and apply it
to the puppies they breed? Then
create a website around it. Official
Shorkie Puppies sounds good doesn't
it?? Like the best of the best. You
can read on their websites why they
claim their shorkie puppies to be
Official. But our question is what
makes them Official
They say this on
their site and I quote from Mileen
Coutlers site who claims she has
Official Shorkie Puppies:
"Our
Official Shorkie puppy is a
Healthy puppy!
We Believe in the Heterosis
Effect
Genetic Testing on Shih tzu
and the Yorkie for Shorkie
Puppies
There are NO Genetic
testing or screening for these
breeds."

Our responses
is OMG! are you serious!!!!! Who
says we are against genetic
testing and we dont need to do
it. Cerf tests for Mix breed
dogs!!!!What type of breeder is
against genetic testing?? They
clearly are trying to justify
why they do not do gentic
testing and admitting that they
do not do it!!!!

First off
that is a LIE! there is a lot of
genetic testing you can do if
you are willing to spend the
money which may add up to
thousands of $$$$$$$. Do
you know you can cerf test mix
breed dogs and registered them.
Go to the Cerf website for
Canine eye health!!! Look
what the AKC says about gentic
testingThe
tests are absolutely necessary.
They
used to be for purebreds only
but recognize that mixed breeds
are at risk too!There is many
genetic tests you can do on both
the parents the shih tzu and
yorkie and it is suggested by
the AKC
Any breeder
that will tell you they have no
genetic faults and there are no
tests are just plain
irresponsible in my opinion.
Even if you believe Milleen
Coulters point of view she
also breeds purebreds which are
not mixes. So why are her
purebreds not already
genetically tested
anyhow???
Just a question
Because
of genetics, no dog
regardless of breed or cross
is safe from inherited
health issues. A big myth
that many less than ethical
breeders of both purebreds
and designer mutts will use
is that their dogs are
genetically free of all
health issues.

Hybrid vigor
does NOT exists in the
crossbred dog or the world
of domestic dogs regardless
of what anyone states.

ETHICAL breeder
will screen potential
breeding dogs. Since there
are many health problems
that can be found in various
and even all breeds, no
breed or cross is safe from
them. It is up to the
breeder to screen for what
they can and have the dogs
certified where applicable
(such as OFA - Orthopedic
Foundation of America).
Also note, that some things
most assume are not
hereditary may actually have
a hereditary basis like
predisposition to ear
infections and allergies or
a predisposition to the
often fatal problem of
"bloat."
Hips dysplasia is found in
all breeds of dog from tiny
to giants.
It was discovered no longer
to be a "big dog" problem.
Even if it is not listed
under the breed you are
checking, please note that
no breed or cross is immune
from this hereditary issue.
Any breeder should at least
OFA or PennHip certify their
dogs along with CERF and
Thyroid.
We 100 %
believe in being responsible
and testing for any genetic
problems that tests are
available for. I
started the Shorkie breed 18
yrs ago and Shorkies are at
risk for inheriting genetic
issues. The only way
to breed responsibly is to
test. But they clearly
state on their site that
they don't need to... would
you rather be safe than
sorry??? just a question.
Maybe
that is why we are the
Authentic Official Shorkie
Puppies. We dont take
a chance on our puppies or
our our puppy parents at
risk,. Even if Mileen
Coutler is right ...
Lets say
she is...great!!!! but what
is she is wrong??? its is
worth the risk.
We do
everything we can to prevent
any unforeseeable problems.
We take pride in being
responsible and doing all we
can. They justify why
they do not do genetic
testing. But what
about the purebreds they
breed. How do they
justify not testing those
fur babies???
The
Heterosis Effect
they believe so strongly in
does not apply to purebreds.
So with her yorkies
shouldn't her stud already
have all his testing done.
She has had bred shih tzus..
shouldn't they already be
done for the purebreds she
breeds.. I am confused are
you?????

Official Shorkie puppies from us to

tells you that there are no genetic
tests available and tests are not
necessary and so they do not have to
do any testing at all. To just not
to worry because they say so. From
the same breeder that said a dog
cannot develop a heart murmur.
Its up to you? I guess all these
genetic tests really don't exist and
are just made up foundations with
thousands and thousands of records
on file for Shih Tzus and Yorkies
alike.
