We often are asked questions about a breed called the shichon. They are a Bichon Shih Tzu We do not breed them get to big and are very high strung and can be nippy . If you are interested in finding out more about them you can visit www.shichon.net and it tells you alot about shichon puppies and what you need to know when considering one

We are many families that have adopted a Shorkie from us in New York and we wanted to share the reference letters that they have shared with us.
We live in Seattle are of Washington State but shipping is always included in our prices. We ask that all our New York puppy parents be willing to go to Newark for pick up as it is a straight through flight for the puppy!

This is Emma one of our New Yorkie Shorkies.
Hi, Jiffy, Rascal, Congo & Pepper (formerly Benji),this is Emma (formerly Bubbles) yoursister. I wanted to wish my brothers a Happy 1st Birthday (Oct. 7). I’m living in New York City with my adopted mommy, Phyllis and I’m very happy. I’m almost 7 lbs, and don’t think I’ll get much bigger. I must be very cute because everyone makes such a fuss over me and I know my brothers must be just as cute! I think my mommy is planning a surprise birthday party, andI’m really excited – that means I’ll get lots of new toys!!!!

Happy Birthday to all of you – I love you and hope you’re all happy in you new homes. Woof, woof, (hugs & kisses)

Love your sister, Emma

Things you can do with your Shorkie in New York City
One of the biggest problems in New York city is that many people like to take Taxi rides. But beware if you are in the city. If your dog is not in a carrier then most taxi drivers will turn you down.
Being that the Shorkie is a toy breed you can just put your dog in a carrier and it should be fine. So as far as the Shorkie goes, getting around New York city should be pretty easy.

Next is what to do in New York with your Shorkie.
I think the biggest and best of the parks is of course CENTRAL PARK!

There are some many dog owners that walk their pooches at Central Park that your Shorkie will fit right in.

There are some doggy do's and doggy dont rules that apply to the park and here is a list of them in case you choose to visit.
welcome in Central Park, as long as they and their owners follow Park rules and regulations.

•Dogs must be leashed from 9AM - 9PM each day and at all times when in the woodland areas of the Park.
•Dog drinking fountains are available and are located at various spots throughout the Park.
•Dogs cannot dig or play in the flowerbeds, nor drink or play in fountains or any other bodies of water.
•Pet owners must clean up after their pets at all times and in all areas of the Park.
•There are 23 noted dog-friendly areas.
•Dogs must be on-leash at all times in the following locations:
◦Arthur Ross Pinetum
◦Bridle Path
◦Cedar Hill
◦Conservatory Garden
◦Kerbs Boathouse Plaza
◦Shakespeare Garden
◦Strawberry Fields
◦Turtle Pond Lawn
◦Woodlands
•Dogs are not allowed in the following locations:

◦East Green
◦Elm Islands at the Mall
◦Great Hill Glade
◦Lilac Walk
